We're on the lookout for an experienced mechanical and mechanism designer to fill the role of Mechanical Engineer at Revolv Space. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of relevant experience and will be a swiss-army knife when it comes to designing and analysing complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.
Your role will be to conduct the development and prototyping of space mechanisms and related ground equipment. This role puts you in close collaboration with the Head of Mechanical Systems, offering a unique perspective into the workings of a fast-growing startup. It's a chance to play a crucial part in our team, where your contributions will directly shape the space systems we develop.
Starting month: July-September 2025
Working language: English (also the language of the recruitment process)
Working location: Turin, Italy
Your mission
- design and prototyping of mechanical and electromechanical systems (spacecraft mechanisms, robotic systems, structures, ground support equipment);
- analysis and validation of our designs through structural and thermal FEA (finite element analysis) and various methods of testing;
- creation of design documentation, including 2D drawings of mechanical parts;
- participation in the AIT (assembly, integration and testing) of prototypes of the developed space systems and ground support equipment.
What you bring to the table
- mechanical, structural, aerospace engineering or similar background;
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience with autonomous design of mechanical systems;
- good knowledge of CAD systems (we use Autodesk Inventor);
- ability to conduct or oversee FEA on parts and assemblies, including the creation of the model and post-processing (proficiency with ANSYS is considered an advantage but is not required);
- good knowledge of physics in the context of space engineering (structural mechanics, vibration, heat transfer, etc.);
- proficient use of English (speaking and writing);
- ability to work autonomously;
- team player;
- legal authorization to work in Italy.
Nice to have
- experience in space systems AIT / prototyping;
- good knowledge of space industry standards, in particular those referring to design, assembly, integration and testing of space systems.
What we offer
- competitive salary;
- "buono pasto";
- hands-on experience with the design, manufacturing, and testing of space-grade systems;
- active and all-round participation in the operations of a NewSpace startup in the heart of Europe’s high-tech hub;
- subsidised company activities;
- flexible working hours.
About the hiring process
- 15-min phone call with Claudia (Exec Assistant) or Olek (COO)
